The short answer
Happy Scale is a well-loved iOS tracker that smooths daily noise into a moving-average trend, and it earns its reputation. WeekScale is a different philosophy: fixed calendar weeks instead of a rolling trend, a one-time price instead of a subscription, and no account or cloud. If the second philosophy sounds like you, WeekScale is the alternative.
What Happy Scale does well
To be clear about this: Happy Scale does several things very well, and an honest comparison starts there.
- Its smoothing trend genuinely takes the sting out of daily fluctuation.
- Predictions, milestone goals, and a passcode are thoughtful, well-built features.
- Apple Health import and export, plus iPhone–iPad sync, are convenient.
- It is maintained by a small team with years of polish behind it.
If those features matter to you, Happy Scale is a good choice, and you should keep using it. WeekScale does not claim to replace it for everyone.
Where WeekScale differs
WeekScale is not a clone of Happy Scale, and it does not try to be. It makes different choices on purpose:
- Calendar weeks instead of a moving average. A finished week stays finished and can be compared fairly with another week. Read the full argument.
- No subscription. WeekScale is a one-time purchase — $6 USD or €5 EUR — with updates included and no recurring fee.
- No account and no cloud. Data lives in the app's private storage on your device. The Android app isn't even granted internet permission, and the iOS app makes no direct network requests.
- No goal weight and no predictions. WeekScale deliberately does not cheer for a number or predict your future weight. The only thing it rewards is a more complete week.

Which should you choose?
Choose Happy Scale if you want a polished smoothing trend, predictions, and milestones, and a subscription (or lifetime unlock) is fine. Choose WeekScale if you want calendar-week comparisons, a one-time price, and data that never needs the internet.
Both can be the right answer. It depends which trade you would rather make. For the details behind WeekScale's privacy choices, read what local-first storage means.
