Privacy without fine-print games
Your data stays yours.
This page separates the iOS and Android apps from this website because they handle information differently. The apps are local-first; the website only receives information you choose to send through its forms.
The iOS and Android apps
Both apps store weight entries and preferences in private storage on your device. Android uses a private app database and local preferences. iOS uses a private SwiftData store and local preferences. CloudKit app synchronization is disabled on iOS.
Neither app has a WeekScale account, proprietary cloud synchronization, advertising SDK, analytics, telemetry, tracking, AI models, Firebase, Sentry, Crashlytics, or another remote crash-reporting SDK.
The Android app does not request internet permission. The iOS app makes no direct network requests and has no third-party runtime dependencies. Unlike Android, iOS does not provide a general internet permission that an app can decline, so these are different technical guarantees.
Weekly averages, ranges, trends, and Reliability Scores use ordinary on-device calculations. Weight history is not sent to an AI service for processing.
WeekScale does not add weight values or weigh-in dates to application logs, exception messages, analytics events, or reminder notification text. Optional reminders use local notifications and notification permission is requested only after you enable a reminder.
System backups
Android
Android system backup and device transfer are enabled. Depending on your Android version, device manufacturer, account settings, and selected backup transport, the app's database and preferences may be included in Android-managed cloud backup or transferred to another device.
This backup is managed by Android and your device or account provider. It is not a WeekScale account or a WeekScale-operated synchronization service.
iOS
Apple-managed device or iCloud Backup may include WeekScale's private SwiftData store and preferences, depending on your device and backup settings. This is separate from CloudKit app synchronization, which WeekScale disables.
These backups are controlled by Apple and your Apple Account settings. WeekScale does not operate the backup service and cannot inspect or restore your backup.
Android and Apple may also collect platform crash or performance diagnostics from people who enable diagnostic sharing. Those platform reports are controlled by the operating-system provider, not by an SDK built into WeekScale.
Import and CSV sharing
Files selected for import are read on your device through the platform's file-selection interface. CSV export only occurs after you request it. Android prepares the export in its cache; iOS prepares it in temporary app storage. The file is then passed to the destination you choose through the system share interface.
Exported files contain weight history and should be treated as sensitive. The privacy practices of an application or service you choose to share with are governed by that provider.
This website
The public marketing pages do not use advertising cookies, behavioral analytics, tracking pixels, or third-party fonts. Standard web-server logs may record technical request information such as IP address, requested URL, browser protocol, response status, and request time for security and operational troubleshooting.
Bot protection
The support and beta forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to distinguish legitimate visitors from automated abuse. When a protected form is displayed or submitted, Cloudflare may process technical information such as IP address, browser and device signals, and the resulting verification token. The token is checked by the WeekScale server and is not stored with your form submission. Cloudflare's processing is governed by its privacy policy.
Support and beta forms
If you use the support form, this website processes the name, email address, and message you submit. If you join the beta, it processes your email address and selected platform. Form messages are sent through Resend, our email delivery provider, to a private WeekScale mailbox.
Support messages and replies may remain in that mailbox while they are needed to resolve the request and maintain reasonable support records. Do not include weight history, CSV contents, passwords, or other sensitive personal information in a support message.
Beta signup details are used only to contact you about beta access and testing. They are not added to a general marketing list or stored in a website database. You can ask to be removed at any time through the support form.
Questions and changes
You can ask a privacy question through the support form. The destination email address is kept on the server rather than published on the page.
This notice documents the current implementation of the pre-release iOS and Android apps. Platform behavior will be reviewed again before each public release.
This notice may be updated when the app is released, the website changes, or legal and distribution requirements become clearer. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
